We are a small, active club based in Burton on Trent, Staffordshire and aim to encourage mountaineering, rock climbing, winter climbing and hill walking. Our members come from across Staffordshire and further afield.
Our current membership is approximately 50 members, encompassing a wide age range from 18 years old upwards, ensuring an informal and friendly club atmosphere where everyone is welcome. Our members mainly practice climbing and hillwalking, with some mountaineering trips in the summer. Anyone with a love for the great outdoors is welcome.
Weekend Meets
We have a regular monthly meets programme that consists of monthly weekend meets. As a BMC affiliated club we use affiliated club huts, but do also visit independent hostels and have some camping meets in the summer months. These meets are all over the country including North Wales, Lake District, Peak District, Yorkshire, Scotland and Southern England.
Monthly Sunday Climbs Program
This gives everyone a chance to get out at least once a month as a club. Meeting at a free public car park in Willington, to then car share to venues throughout the Peak District. During the summer months there’s often people out every weekend and during the week.
Sunday Climbs – are usually based in and around the Peak District, there is so much to offer we try to go to a different venue each month.
Midweek Indoor Climbing
A few members meet on a Thursday evening to climb indoors – usually at Alter Rock, Derby
Members can also be found at Redpoint in Birmingham on a Thursday morning.
Social Meet 1st Tuesday of the month – Evening
From 8:30pm onwards we can usually be found in the Burton Bridge Inn. This is the best opportunity to meet current club members and set plans in motion for whatever outdoor ventures you have in mind.
